Pregnant Then Screwed is a respected campaign group with a mission to change the landscape for working mums. Established in 2015, we have supported thousands of women who have been pushed out of work for getting pregnant, or who have felt forced to give up their careers because managing their professional and personal obligations became impossible. We have built a dedicated following of over 50,000 social media users and our work has been covered in hundreds of articles and media interviews from Vogue, Stylist and Grazia to The Guardian and The Financial Times, with regular appearances on Victoria Derbyshire, BBC Breakfast, BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 5 Live. We are supported by high profile celebrities including Keira Knightley and MPs across the political spectrum including Angela Raynor, Stella Creasy, Helen Whately, Jess Philips and former Australian Prime Minister, Julia Gillard. Pregnant Then Screwed has also been called on to give evidence to the government’s Women and Equalities select committee on the misuse of NDAs and our founder, Joeli Brearley, recently spoke at the United Nations in Geneva on the issue of women’s rights.
This year our London and York events will become our fourth and fifth live festivals, respectively. We will bring together 450 mothers at each location, who are looking for work that works for them. London will also be live streamed to over 1000. Our four main themes are flexible working, entrepreneurship, confidence and pregnancy and maternity discrimination. Each festival will feature the funniest, most inspirational women we can uncover to help mothers navigate the minefield that is motherhood and work. The main stage at our London event will be live streamed to mums across the UK.
